2006 Platinum 3776 Kamakura Pens General Grant limited edition Wajima maki-e Kinpaku music nib fountain pen. Kamakura Pens released two limited edition fountain pens in 2006 in the Platinum line, this being one, the General Grant pen, apparently limited to just 100 pens. This pen in unnumbered and has a red lacquer band near the top that are not numbered, possibly made as test pens. The maki-e design is based on a lacquer box that was gifted to General Grant in 1879 on his trip to Japan where he met with Emperor Meiji with Kinpaku (gold work) design of chrysanthemums and ivy. Platinum 14K music nib. Filling mechanism cartridge/converter fill (converter present). Overall near mint condition. No box.
