What paper should I use?

What paper should I use?

The eternal question...what paper should I use? This is a huge rabbit hole to enter with pens and paper (and ink!) I started using different papers for different tasks but have been evolving my use of paper to suit the pen and not necessarily the task I was doing. There  are so many agenda and journal paper options available that you could spend a lot of time ( and money) trying them all, if that was even possible. Generally my favorite papers are Tomoe River and Clairefontaine. I was recently introduced to Graphilo and its amazing, but I have found limited options in format.  I am also partial to the Montblanc paper despite its high cost. My advice when someone asks me which paper to use? Use the paper made where your pen was made. That seems to give me the best results. Japanese pen? Japanese paper. German pen, German paper, etc. I do highly recommend getting a French Ruled notebook if you want to practice your penmanship. It has a lot of guide lines to help you make your writing more uniform. Making your letters more uniform automatically makes your writing look better, even if you are not trying to perfect a certain writing style. I use the ones made by Clairefontaine as they economical and come in a couple different sizes. Once again there is no right or wrong, I just wish is wasn't so expensive to try so many of these options!
