What do you use your pens for?

I get this question sometimes and I see it posted online a lot...What do you use your pens for? I suppose you could use them specifically for many different tasks that require writing or drawing...but I mostly use them for work or journaling. Journaling can cover a vast array of tasks though so lets get specific.
Journaling for me covers a great area...I have a 5 Year journal in which I record each day like a log book...weather, tasks and anything special that happened that day. Most of my days are the same so I sometimes feel like it's a little boring but I know when I have completed the 5 years it will be more interesting to look back on. I also have a Legacy journal...this one I don't write in all the time, just when I am feeling clear enough to do so. It's a series of stories about my life and memories. Sometimes it's very difficult to write and sometimes it just pours out of me. This is a long term project that I hope my children are able to look back at and enjoy someday. I also have a journal I am writing for my granddaughter about my thoughts and feeling about her and her development landmarks as well as the things her parents tell me about her. When I vacation I take a trip journal with me as well.
I recently decided to try and learn to write with my non dominant hand (left) so I now have a notebook where I write one sentence several times with both my right and left hands, this is turning out to be more fun than I anticipated. The last journal I have, which I also just recently started on is a "grievance" journal...like the opposite of a gratitude practice. It sounds counter intuitive since we are always told to record what we are grateful for, but I am really liking this! I am typically very grateful for my life so the gratitude journal never really caught on for me...but being able to record my annoyance for the day and leave it on the paper, this has been great!
That's a lot of journals! It's no pressure for me though...if I don't feel like writing today I don't and I think that's what makes it so enjoyable for me.
