Update on imports...

I really wanted to sit down and write something positive for the blog last week and I have been just overwhelmed with the upcoming removal of the de Minimus exemption for imports, so here is a little update...I have been bringing in as much stock as possible and, frankly, worrying about how this will affect me moving forward. I buy most of my items from overseas. I choose those items because I think they will sell and they are not typically (easily) available in the US. I don't have much of a mark up on these items because the cost to import is already so high and I want people to be able to afford them. Unlike so many other retailers most of my sales are not on North America standard items that I can make larger margins on...so it's concerning to see a business model that I have really enjoyed developing becoming cost prohibitive.
I have some ideas for added value things I can do to maintain current sales levels and will be deploying those as I have them available. Stick with me as I work to continue to acquire unusual items to sell to the North American market.
Frustrated but not defeated!
