Mid Year Planner/Journal Update

Mid Year Planner/Journal Update

I love the IDEA of being able to commit to one planning system for the year but I seem to be incapable of actually doing it!

My work changed this year so I changed to a different planning system, Plotter, at the beginning of the year and it actually worked great until May. Then May rolled in and I have a lot of commitments and planning to do for the summer the Plotter just became too small. You can only fit so many papers in there before those tiny rings don't close. Aside from that I loved the Plotter system because I could move things around so easily.

Luckily I have both a Hobonichi Techo A6 and a Wonderland 222 All in One A5 Planner dated 2026 so I was able to take a look and decide which would work better. I chose the Wonderland because it is larger. I have not used this set up before so I am still playing with it but so far it's working very well for what I need right now. It's just so big compared to what I have been carrying this year! ( Unfair comparison...A5 with 376 pages vs Plotter Bible size with hardly any pages!) ( Extra good news is that gave me the opportunity to use my Lochby A5 Planner cover daily) I am still working on my final use case with this planner but so far I am loving it. It's got plenty of sections for me to track and note information and I love the weekly and daily pages. I still need to find a way to easily mark the divisions in this book so it's fast to get to what I am looking for. This layout takes me back to what I was using a couple years ago where I just took a Rhodia Goal book and made my own layout so it feels pretty natural to go back to. I am only a couple weeks into the switch but I am very seriously thinking about pre ordering a 2027 Core Planner from Wonderland222 because I am so happy with the quality of this one and at about 100 less pages the Core is probably what I need to have to be able to use one planner for the year.

The journaling set up remains the same so far...still working in my 5 Year primarily ( less pressure with only room for only a sentence or two) occasionally using the Legacy journal and 3AM thoughts journal and my travel journal if I am out of town. I did add a meditation journal in May, mostly as a way to test some onion paper. I don't force myself to journal and I think thats why these are still working. Less anxiety=better clarity and writing.

P.S. Don't worry about me not using the Plotter...I am working on some logic to help me convert my bound Fountain Pen Commonplace Book to the Plotter system. The rings would definitely solve my frustration with my current Commonplace book being bound and running out of space in certain sections.
