Time works in a way that I can't comprehend. When I was a kid a week took forever and now the weeks fly by...It's busy time for me.
The Gun Show was a bust and not just for me, many of the other vendors were commenting that it was unusually slow. I am glad I went, if you don't try you don't know, but I won't be back.
I am trying to get more pre-owned inventory before the July Pen show in Portland but the prices people want are a bit crazy. I also think many people are holding onto their pens right now and not trying to sell to trade them to upgrade to something new. We will be bringing a bunch of other inventory to the show so I hope people find something that they have been looking for. I am still trying to decide on a daily specials or something of the sort for the show. The new website for the show sure looks great and the vendor list is awesome. I really hope I get some time to walk around and see what everyone has with them this year! ( PNW Pen Show )
For the first time in months I have imported some fountain pens from both Europe and Japan so you will see some pens that are not typically sold here in the US on the website and likely at the pen show. I have such a great time looking for these pens but I hesitate more often now because of the higher pricing and the fact that the economy has really affected peoples hobby spending.
"Tourist Season" has begun in earnest here at the coast and I am now open on Thursdays..so here Thursday-Sunday for the summer and so far Thursdays are a great addition. I am getting a lot more families and I love that. Any time I can interest kids in writing I am happy!
