Happy New Year!!

Can you believe it?? We are finally open in the retail space!

The address is 1702 S Roosevelt in Seaside...just north of Bell Buoy on the west side of 101. The window signs are up but not super visible but the building sign should be coming soon so it will be easier to see from the highway. 

The Christmas break was a much needed week off and I am glad we had planned that before we decided to open the shop as it forced us to take a break. We drove down to California and spent a few days with our daughter and got to go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is always impressive. If you haven't been and enjoy aquariums, it's not to be missed. We also made our way over to the only place I know of that still presses fresh apple juice and bought a few gallons to bring home and repack/freeze for later. There is nothing like a fresh cup of apple juice when it tastes just like a fresh apple. 

We came back home and got back at the finishing touches for the shop. We did a little 'soft open' preview for two days and that helped us get the bugs out of the electronics.  It was a very well attended couple days and I thank everyone who made it whole heartedly for the support. As I write this it's Sunday early afternoon and coming to the close of the first weekend open. We have had a few more customers but it really hasn't been busy, which has allowed me to get my inventory done during regular hours. That was a blessing because I have a lot of consulting work to do this week and our sweet labrador has to have surgery Wednesday so I am blocking that day out to be ready for him to come home. It should be an easy surgery but he is 13 years old so of course I am worried about it already. 

The winter hours at the shop will be Friday and Saturday from 10-4 and Sunday 10-2. I am also available by appointment during the rest of the week. If you can't make it on a weekend or would like a more personalized shopping experience with time dedicated to just you that is the way to go...and please don't be shy about asking, I am at the shop most days anyway to prepare online orders for shipment. 

I am hoping to get back to regular blogs now that we are settled in, and there is so much to talk about right now in the fountain pen world!
