Cleaning up and focusing on Changes

Cleaning up and focusing on Changes

This past year has been so busy and fun for me...transitioning from pen user and collector to user, collector and retailer. This was always meant to be a fun hobby and (hopefully) generate a little retirement income in a few years. I have learned a lot ( and, oh boy, have so much more to learn) and am now I am focusing on making some changes going forward to make the business side of this work better. My mission doesn't change...I still want to connect pens with people first and foremost, that is what brings me joy!

What is changing are some small things you might not even notice as most people are on line shopping. You will see in the coming weeks a bunch of "shop used" pens being listed. I had initially tried to have pens available for sample writing in many nib sizes and pen styles...but that just has not been as practical as I had intended and it left me with a  lot of pens that don't see regular use. In the future we will dip pens for test writing in person, that should offer a better sense of what a pen feels like than what I have been doing.

Secondly, and the biggest change and challenge for me is that we are going to try and set up "pop ups" in the local area. I have had so many people ask about a physical location and while I have a location in mind there is nothing available for rent right now so I think its more prudent to try and spend the winter setting up locations for pop ups in Seaside and Astoria starting in the spring. We also plan to attend, as a vendor, the PNW Pen Show once again and next year I hope to add the Colorado Pen Show to our show "schedule". I Love a small pen show so maybe we can get to one or two more as well, hopefully we can meet some of you along the way!
