Brick and Mortar Update

Brick and Mortar Update

Coming right off of fountain pen day we were able to start getting our display shelves and cabinets set up...with the exception of the one that came with broken glass. (And then the replacement glass arrived broken) Out here at the coast new, unbroken, glass could take awhile so I am hoping that arrives before we open in January! The shop has been painted and the landlord repairs are complete. New merchandise is arriving daily and I am trying to keep up with that. I felt pretty lost in the world of pencils and non-fountain pens. So I did what any reasonable person would do and went to the Pen Addict web page and checked out the top 5 lists and started testing pens and pencils from there. No point in reinventing the wheel! I won't stock anything I wouldn't use myself so testing was important to me. We had a little pen testing after dinner one night with some guests and from all of those results I started choosing what to stock. Those items are arriving now and it's a little intimidating as well as exciting. Yesterday alone I received my Blackwing, Mitsubishi Pencil, Uni (many styles of these!), Zebra and Micron pens. A nice shipment of stickers and col-o-rings arrived from The Well Appointed Desk and Blackwater Craftworks is working on journal covers for my stock. It's a lot!

I need to enter literally hundreds of items and we have removed everything except pens from the website for right now so you may notice some empty or new areas for a couple of weeks. We also have a trip over Thanksgiving to visit our Granddaughter so I will be taking a couple days off as well. Thank you so much for your support and I really appreciate your patience as I learn about this industry and use technology that is new to me!
