Art supply shopping...and a new vacuum filler
Share
I tend to get pretty focused on what I am supposed to be doing and not take "side trips", literally or metaphorically. I am currently in Colorado meeting my Grand daughter for the first time, which is absorbing all of my attention. I have forgotten how wonderful newborns are ( of course, I am not the one awake at night!)...but a few days ago I decided to take a quick trip out of the house and visit a local art supply store, Meiningers, in Colorado Springs. They are stuffed full of all kinds of art supplies, but they also have a nice little fountain pen section! I ended up buying an ink miser and they had one bottle of Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine ink. I have never seen this color before. I have read that it was ink of the year in 2016 and they brought it our a few years later. It is currently in my Pelikan Price list but has not been available when I have tried to order it. So I bought it...even though it was pretty pricey. You can't get ink and no pen...right??...so I also bought a Navular Original Plus. I am giving a vacuum filler another try. I had a Pilot 823 but I just didn't care for it. remembering to open the back for ink flow was a personal pet peeve. This one is far less expensive so I am going to give it a run again. It holds a good amount of ink and I write a lot so hopefully I get used to it. Back home in Oregon our local art supply ( in Astoria) also stocks a few fountain pens so this could be an option I didn't know about for finding pens, paper and ink locally.
